fuel line and heater core questions 140-160 1971

As I'm putting my 142 back together I have one or two questions, I'll need to replace the rubber fuel lines between the hard lines and the motor as well as any rubber heater hose between the heater core and motor.

What psi. rating is the fuel line hose and I'd gather any heater hose from the auto parts store will do for the lines between the heater core and the motor.

The heater fan was starting to squeel a bit in the old car, The parts car came with a back up fan but I can't seem to get it running by grounding and hooking up power from the battery while it's out of the car. Any ideas how to test it while its out of the car, I haven't got the dash and wiring back in yet and would like to make sure it works prior to putting it back in.

Thanks for any input.
Chris

Re: testing the heater fan (if it's like my '70), Black to ground and either Red or Green to positive. Red is for one speed, Green is for the other (no resistor used, the motor actually has two sets of windings).

I've had to re-solder the wire connections at the motor to get them to work before so beware of that- also test the unit in the upright position. I read a post here noting that sometimes it will work in positions other than the installed one and then quit once it's in.

And be sure to give the bushings a good clean and lube with lithium grease.

    Good luck!

Proper heater & fuel hose is rated to 230psi. Fuel hose has a neoprene inner.

If you have carburetors, the pressure between the tank and fuel pump is atmospheric
or less, and the pressure between the fuel pump is 3 psi.
If you have D-jet fuel injection, any hose rated for fuel injection service should do.
The pressure will be 30 psi or less as long as your fuel pressure regulator is working right.
