Higher Idle RPM After Driving 900 1991

Happy New Year to all,
My 91 940 SE started to give me problems with ignition, humid day No start, fast battery drainage, and idle high RPM (about 1300) after driving for about 15 minutes, and after shutting off and restarting, it would start right up and the RPM is back to normal.
I just changed Dis. cap, Wires, Rotor, Plugs, Air filter and gas filter. The cold star and battery drainage seems solved, but high idle RPM after driving still exist. Is there anything else I need to change or do to correct this problem also I must add that the engine is running rich and I have very high gas consumption. I would appreciate any advise.

    Higher Idle RPM After Driving 900 1991

    1. check for codes

    2. if none disconnect the neg battery for a few minutes and reconnect. this resets the ecu to new by clearing all old learned operating settings

    3. check the function of your o2 sensor. a failing/ed sensor will default the ecu to run rich and make the car to run less than good.

    as a test disconnect all the firewall connectors..... 2.... from the o2 sensor. see if any engine change occurs.

    this normally will default the ecu to run very rich
