engine has bad "cold shakes' after being on the stand for 6 month 200 1993

It’s been almost three weeks since I finally put my new 93 red 245 on the road. I still haven’t cured the “cold shake”. At first, I try to deny that fact that the shake is just a little bit more than normal yet not a “violent” one. However, it is. It shakes every time I start the engine cold. It vibrates about an inch around. It stops when the temperature reaches half way to the middle. I tried everything I read from the previous posts and the FAQs. Nothing helped so far. Remember this started to occur after I did the oil pump job, replaced the fall-apart old mounts and a whole list of other things while I was there.

1. did the propane and carb cleaner spray trick, no leaks found.
2. replaced the IAC and AMM, no change.

Any suggestions? Thanks. Erwin

    My car still shakes bad.

Now I determined that it’s not just a “cold” shake. After about 3 minutes it does idle better. However, after I drive it for an hour I can still feel the excessive shake in front of a red traffic light.

I used my wife’s perfectly-running 92 245 as a donor car and checked AMM, IAC, intake hoses. Did propane test for vacuum leaks, no differences. I’m planning to swap the entire intake manifold. If it still makes no difference, It will rule out both vacuum leak and fuel restriction concerns.

Another prime suspect I have in mind is timing. Remember that the cam pulley has a painted mark 3 teeth counter clockwise from the factory mark. I think that I should try to approach that mark one tooth at a time to see if it makes difference. Any idea which of the two actions I should try first. Thanks

Here is another thread about this car after a major operation.

I'd certainly take a look at your timing marks as well. Did you change belts and tensioner during your big makeover?

I did change the timing belt, but decided to re-use the tensioner. The timing is dead on the original factory marks. As I stated, the cam pulley has a painted mark 3 teeth CC and I do not remember if it weas on the painted, or the factory mark before I took it apart. Thanks for your thoughts. Erwin

Everyone also says to check the accordion hose to the AMM.In my case that hose was ok but the hard plastic elbows is where the problem was.Check both for cracks along the seams.
