Happy with window scraper material from John Fraser 200

I want to say how happy I was buying window scraper material from John Fraser, who advertised on the Classifieds ("VOLVO 240 Side Window Scraper Rubber NEW").

About $30, and some time with kitchen shears, putty knives, and Vaseline (on the rubber, full length) renewed what desperately needed renewing.

Thanks, John.

exact item from Taiwan, can buy direct 200

    hello gregg,
glad you have some replacement rubber.

one can buy direct from a guy in Taiwan named andrew and his taiwan company. i bought about 3 m @ $10/meter shipped--probably same as john's stuff. i have andrew's contact info buried in my emails.

nice of john to sell at cost because another person is selling the same stuff on bb classifieds for $0.40/in, if i recall correctly. and another person is selling the stuff at a very high price on ebay.

best price & i'm sure the exact stuff is from andrew in taiwan, unless you have kind guys like john.

nice to have decent replacement parts--good source of a hard-to-find item and good quality.

    happy new year,

I have put a set on from www.davebarton.com. Price for the complete 4 door set was $68. No lube was needed. Just another reference point.

Hmmm. Last time I looked the ad was there.

Push PgDn 2 0r 3 times, or use the Search function in the ads.

Or DON'T use the search function. It just leads to more temptation. ;-)

    Hey Gregg!
There are rubber lubes that disappear faster and are (slightly) less messy than Vaseline.
Larger parts houses probably have them, unfortunately in one, five and 55-gallon quantities.
Fortunately I was able to pick up a 4-oz sample bottle at the SAE Auto Show in Detroit
in February 1998. I've still got most of it.......

      Yes, you are right George.

I forgot about the gallon of SilGlyde or RubberWhatsit I have in the basement.

Since I did the scraper rubber swap on the couch while watching a football game, I guess I thought the Vaseline jar was more acceptable in that environment. ;-)

        Hi Gregg,

I can clearly remember a family living class in junior high, warning us against using Vaseline on rubber products. ;)

        Happy New Year!
