FUEL PUMP PRESSURE 444-544

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the standard fuel pump pressure is rated at on a 544 with a B16 engine. I just installed an electric fuel pump that is rated at 4-7 psi and the car starts and idles fine, but I haven't been able to take it for a drive to see if the pump will overpressure or underpressure the system. I could go with a 2-4 psi rated pump if this is too much pressure. Any ideas what the standard pump was putting out?
Thanks

Thanks for the advise. I checked the PSI on the pump I had installed and found it to be 5 psi. It wasn't leaking or floading, but I purchased a new pump anyways. I purchased a Mr Gasket pump #42s rated at 2-3.5 psi. It measured out when installed to read 2.5 at idle. I really don't know if it would increase with higher RPMs considering it is electric, but 2.5 seems to be more then enough pressure at idle.
Considering it's snowy here in the midwest, I won't be taking it out to test drive it until spring. Thanks again for the info.

Should be not more than 3 psi.
That's why electric fuel pumps are generally not recommended. They usually overpower
the float valve and cause float chamber overflowing and flooding.

      Hello,

If you need 1, Holley Carburetors make a very nice low pressure fuel regulator

The cheap fuel regulators usually do not accurately regulate fuel pressure and have a tendency to fall apart and then leak fuel.

I have just had to do this on a B20 engine which previously had Strombergs which I changed to SU's. I could not stop the overflowing of the SU's so have added a Holley pressure regulator such as you are talking about and to date it seems to be OK. Still needs a little tuning, both carbs and PR, as it is still running lean but it is a lot better than it was.
