Does anyone have experience replacing the bulbs that illuminate the center console panels? I'm referring to the panel that has the blower fan switch. Are there any tricks? does anyone know the bulb specifications?

I should have included: 1990 240 sedan auto.

The lamp is a 2721. If you loosen the side panel screws and two at the bottom of the console front at carpet level, you can pull the face backward enough to find the sockets. Look for brown and black wires.

I thought the plastic optics that direct the light are tinted green, which means the light bulbs should also be tinted green, yes?

I put white LED's in my console and the resulting light is greenish. had I intalled green LED's, the light output should be white.

If you know color theory and optics it makes sense -- or at least that's what I've been told.

I replaced the bulbs but I had a very hard time getting the outer two sockets in place. I finally put them near the reflectors and held them there with duct tape. Are there any other tricks? I'll wait until this weekend's storm has passed before I try again.

I had to install new bulbs in my 83 240 recently, you have to hold the console close to the install position in order for the bulb and socket to reach the socket hole.
What reflector are you talking about in your post above.

Succint as always, Art. To the OP,I believe IPD carries these as well as almost all the rest of the bulbs on a 200 if your local auto parts place is fresh out.
