92 960 intermittant headlights 900 1992

My wife's 92 965 has developed a disconcerting problem where the lowbeam headlights will just randomly cut off on her-not good at night! She can flip on the high beams and they always work. Usually after a few minutes, she can flip back to lows and they are working--until they decide to cut off again. I replaced the light/dimmer switch and cleaned the grounds up near the lights on the inner fenders with no change. I'm thinking it's a relay, but according to the FAQ, the lights relay (A & E) are permanantly attached to the relay base. Does anyone know if this is true? Is there anything else I need to check and if it is the relay, where can I buy a new one assuming I can get the old one off. Thanks

Hi,

I would try a bulb failure relay, but I would get a used one from a bone yard. Usually the taillights go out when it is defective, but the low beams do pass through that relay according to my manual. I think the headlight relay is in the headlight switch, would also try a used one.
