Anyone ever replaced the leaf spring? 900 1996

Had no idea my 960 had a composite rear spring until today while doing brake work. That's when I discovered it is delaminating on one side. It could have just started, it could have been like this for 4 years: no idea. Obviously, it needs replacing. Is there a procedure posted somewhere? Search engine was less than helpful.

Thanks.

That is not an easy job, involves removing the rear suspension sub frame assembly. I am pretty sure it must be done on a lift, probably not possible to do on the ground on stands. On my 97 I once had a bad rubber bushing (eventually it fell out) that helps hold the diff in place. Several Volvo shops had never done it. The dealer was just out of the question, their pricing is nuts and they had never done it. I found a shop that knew how and had done it before. They had to do some major disassembly. Get back under there and you will see what I mean.

Never heard of that transverse spring giving trouble. Rear end low? Have a close look to verify what you suspect.
