Scan Tech Regina fuel pump? 700 1990

So I just got my 740 running again (yay) with a new fuel pump. I got the one off of FCP Groton that said it was OEM. I got one that has Scan Tech stamped on the side. I've had horrible luck relying on anything Scan Tech in the past. I seriously doubt that Scan Tech had any say in OEM supplying to Volvo. Have you folks had good luck with these Scan Tech pumps? Are they actually made by a reputable company and then re-badged by Scam Tech? It's in the car now and running well, but I don't want it to die in a few months or to rely on it for long trips if it will surely fail.

Thanks for thoughts/experience.

Scan Tech Regina fuel pump? 700 1990

For this reason I don't use the FCP website anymore, I always phone in my order and specifically ask the person what brand my part is, and if it's ScanTech then I ask for something else. In my experience they usually can get 3 different parts: scanTech (or other cheap imitation), some made-in-germany/italy/france brand, and genuine Volvo. I usually go for the middle option.

How long did your regina fuel pump last? The one in my car is over 100k now and I have been thinking about ordering a new one just to have as a spare. The original pump died at 108k.

      Thanks.

I wrote them an email about it and they just responded that I should call them to discuss. I was on vacation for a week and a half, so I haven't had time yet to call them.

The regina pump lasted around 180K miles, as far as I can tell. I don't think it was ever replaced. When I took it apart, I discovered that the leads to the brushes were no longer soldered to the brushes. I don't know how it was running at all.

I just hope that the Scan Tech pump lasts a few years anyways--I was kinda in a tough spot and needed to get things fixed up on that car.

      thanks for the response.
