Blocking plate for cylinder head 140-160

Putting a FI head on my carb motor. I need to block the port for the temperature sensor on the front/side of the head as I will not be using it. Anyone know where I can source this part?

Thanks,
Wayne

Shayne or Cameron (ex-IPD gentlemen) may have some of those Volvo insignia shaped, flat aluminum plates. They're very cool, and even came w/ hardware.
I found mine in the garage shortly after you left (as you know my garage, you can probably appreciate the effort of finding the little stuff) :-). When you come by, I'll let you borrow it for a template.

    Shayne/Cameron:
As I understand this may be something one of you designed, do you mind if someone borrows your idea?

You mean the coolant temp sensor (plug) or auxiliary air valve (plate)?
Leave the sensor in and make a plate for the AAV hole.

    Hello,

If you are talking about where the temperature sensor for the fuel injection screws in, you can use a short bolt with copper or aluminum washer.

An aluminum sealing washer for this purpose is included in the correct Elring head gasket set.

The bolt is metric and is 10mm x 1.00 thread and it is important that it has threads all the way to the head.

For the air slide you can fabricate your own block off plate by using a gasket as a template.

I have block off plates that I have made that are just plain aluminum, which makes them reversible in case the gasket surface deteriorates over time.

Someone in Brickboard land makes a nice block off plate with the Volvo logo engraved on 1 side.
