I need to replace one of the mounting gaskets on the 85, 245. I also could use a couple of the well nuts that mount the rack. One of my brass inserts came out of the rubber plug. Help please!

Got a set of rack gaskets at the yard today. This is the later style, black rack. I think the posts are the same, but we should check. If you e-mail me at dpsam-at-sbcglobal-dot-net I can scan them and e-mail you the scan so you can check the shapes.

Our Lowe's carries rubber well anchors. They are in the drawers in the fastener section. If too thick, they can certainly be sanded down.

Done that, but I still need the molded gaskets for the end feet. I only need one of them.

Let me get rolling. I might have a few in a box in the garage. They can probably go in the mail for the cost of a first class stamp if so. Will advise!

My apologies. What I thought were rack gaskets are hatch hinge gaskets. I'll put them on my shopping list though.

Look at your local hardware store, I've used these on motor mounts for small R/C engines.

Dan, I picked up a set of them at my local Ace Hardware, but the pad on them is too thick. The ones that Volvo used are very thin where the pad sits on them. This allowed the mounting rubber gasket to split. I'd really like to get a couple of old ones from a junker, and a decent pad gasket (front or rear.

I'll keep an eye out for them but racks are fairly rare. Have you checked w/ Volvo either local or TASCA?
