rough idle 900 1996

every now and then i get a slight rough idle. what can this be? bad gas?maybe the injectors need cleaning????????? 96 960 173000

    Bad gas and bad injectors are possible but not likely.
    What is the idle speed?
    Is the check engime light on?
    Define "slight rough idle". A rythmic miss as if 1 cylinder cutting out?
    Any other driving symptoms?
    Has the car been had new plugs and servicing done?
