I learned a few months back that my former rental source for the TAB removal tool, IPD, no longer had them to sell or rent. The tool made a nearly impossible job routine and safe. So it looks like you are on the path of making one or finding someone who will loan you theirs.

      Whay can't you just substituite a 41 mm or 42 mm & / inch equivelant ( "1&5/8 inch) 3/4 socket with washersfor Part "A" ?
      How about a 2&14 or 52mm or more to substitiuite for "B" & "C" ?

BTW, I checked this with my old junk bushing for fit.Any body else try this ?

If you mean the rear trailing arm,yes there is a site that shows you how to make one.I don't have the info but if you do a search on here you will find it.Others may have it bookmarked and perhaps can help.Easy, fun project.Good luck.

piece of advice if you decide to make your own tool: ask for a deposit when loaning the tool out, even to other brickboarders.

Additional advice: Use EP grease (wheel bearing grease will do, motor oil or white grease will not) on the threads of the Grade 8 bolt. If the old bushing is really rusted in, the tool threads can gall when you start cranking on your breaker bar.

Good advice: been there, didn't use grease. A particularly difficult bushing did cause the galling you describe.

Had I not had a die grinder with an abrasive cut off wheel I would have had a very difficult time disassembling the bushing tool. Luckily I had an extra nut and bolt on hand.

Indeed, I own one of those worn-out T-shirts as well. The only other things I'll add to the conversation are to do one side at a time, take your time, and clean off the old bushing as well as you can with a small wire brush before flooding it with PB Blaster or Kroil, one of my other favorites. In addition, when you reassemble the whole mess, I like to coat the whole new bushing housing in Never-Seize. This helps to keep it from corroding so much, especially in the rust belt areas of the country.
