I know i should put this in the classified but maybe I will get a quicker response this way.

FCPGroton has a brand new Nissen's aluminum radiator for $194 less 15% sale discount. That compares very well with a used unit when you add shipping from the boneyard. Unless I was flat broke, I would not gamble with a used radiator: the risk of damaging other engine components if it fails is just too high.

thanks for the reality check. FCP has always been a good source for me and I will get one from them. Happy Giving of Thanks

Perhaps someone has one with known history (ie. fairly new). A rad is one of those parts that seems to have a finite life. I would not be inclined to put in a used one unless I know it's history no more than I would look for a used battery or brake pads.

I think I would be more inclined to put into service a unknown used battery (easily testable)or unknown used brake pads (you can see the thickness and wear)than an unknown radiator, which could have hidden issues. perhaps a better comparison would be a used timing belt or perhaps a used heater core.

the good thing is the used radiator can be easily checked, I have a fairly new one in a 94 parts car I would use in a heartbeat, but I know the PO well AND the mechanic that worked on the car for the last 10 years.

The down side is shipping cross county would cost more than you'd save buying used locally
