V90 radiator replacement procedure S90-V90

Hello everyone,

Well, I get to replace the radiator on our V90. Hot dog, that's awesome.

I see lots have done this job. Plastic and engines are maybe not the best combination. I searched a bit but didn't find any details about the procedure. Any surprises I need to watch out for? The transmission has connections to the radiator, isn't that correct? Do I need any gaskets/o-rings/crush washers to make sure these won't leak? Should I be prepared for a flood of transmission fluid when I disconnect these?

Thanks in advance.

Scott

Be very carefull putting back trans cooler lines as mentioned a little oil will help but patience is the key to reapplying these diffucult cooler lines.

No gaskets, no crush washers, no O-rings. One wire connector and 2 or 3 screws gets the fan off. 2 coolant hoses and 2 trans lines. Use 2 wrenches on the metal trans lines. When reconnecting a drop or 2 of ATF on the brass threads seems to help. Not much ATF comes out of the bottom connection at all. Fairly straight forward R & R.
