Replaced my seats 200 1989

Found some nice seats in a parts yard today. Frau Blucar now has cloth front seats and vinyl in the back. Colors match, and the new ones cleaned up fine. What a difference from what I had!!

Does anyone need a good passenger side seat cover and seat foam? I went looking to find exactly that, with the intention of rebuilding my drivers seat. Instead, I have replaced both. My drivers seat is toast: split cover, degrading foam, and bent frame. The passenger seat has a bent frame as well, but the other stuff may help someone fix their car. I hate to toss it, so its in the back of my garage looking for a home.

Let me know if anyone can use it, and we can work out a reasonable deal. Otherwise, it can join its mate in the local dump this weekend.

don't know what the going rate for seats but I got tires of looking for front seats for my 245. Checked on having mine redone and the guy I have used for gave me a price of $300.00 which I thought was a little high for my area. Finally got around to checking a little and found someone to cover both front for $150.00. They car coming out Thursday. Greg

You mention your seat frame is bent. If you are referring to the back rest portion of the frame, I believe you would find you just have two bolts on either the L or R side that are loose.

I just rebuilt my drivers seat this weekend. You can easily readjust the frame angle and torque down the bolts and you've got a straight seat again. Don't give up hope on those seats.

Additionally, I recommend using the bottom seat height adjust portion of your old driver side frame and install it on the passenger's side seat. Easy as pie. Then both you and the passenger will have fully adjustable seat height.

Now that you have cloth front seats, you want to KEEP your passenger front seat foam as a spare (works on the driver side as well). Cloth seats vs. Vinyl or leather cause a higher rate of foam failure! Typically, the right side upright frame of the driver seat tears through the foam in short order and hits you in the shoulder blade.

Thanks for the input. I may do exactly that.

Well, if you change your mind, I could use both (bottom and seat back) foam pieces if they're in good shape. My covers are fine.
