1993 Volvo 940: Check Engine Light

I have a 1993 Volvo 940. Recently, the check engine light illuminated on the Dashboard but goes out routinely after ~2 minutes. Can anyone advise me where the recent button is located that will reset this light such that it will not come on. The OBD revealed no problem so I suspect that the light has come on as a function of odometer mileage.

Many thanks!

1993 Volvo 940: Check Engine Light

That's not a "Check Engine" light, that's a service light that reminds the owner to service their car such as an oil change etc. Once you service your Volvo, you can reset that light by removing a little robber plug on your dash and pressing on the pin using a pen or something similar. And i thing that light comes on every 3k or 4k miles to remind again.

1993 Volvo 940: Check Engine Light

Are you sure it is the "check engine" light? What you described is the "service" light. They are not the same.

Check Engine is a detected emission related failure.
Service light is oil change interval - 5,000 mile / 8,000 kms. It can be reset by removing the rubber plug located left of speedo, and firmly depressing the button behind it using a ball-point pen or philips head screwdriver. Push again if light comes on again on next start.
