Still looking for a good used distributer for 1964 B18. Thanks.

I haven't found my box of distributors yet but have not given up. At the moment I am at
RKent47's place in Howard, South Dakota. We drove about 65 miles through blinding snow
to get here last night. I'll be home Wednesday.

Are you after a 'period perfect' distributor? If not, you could use anything.

I just need a good part-vacumn advance or not-just one that the lobes that open the points are not worn out. The one I have has so much wear that on one of the lobes the points do not open at all. This can be easily checked (with the distributer out of the engine)by rotating the shaft and watching the points open and close. Thanks to all for the replies.

Thing is, most are like that now, unless you find a low mileage unit. If the mechanicals work OK, then convert it to electronic.

I appreciate the responses. I have thought that the change to electronic might be necessary. I did the conversion on the "Red" one, and it worked fine. My line of reasoning is the the point system is easier to trouble shoot if I have any glichets (I'm very old) on ititial startup and adjustments.

Good luck finding a dizzy is OK condition. If you forced to use one that has a poor lobe, try & use it for Number 3. It's the best choice to run retarded.

Watch out for VW parts too, some VW have one cylinder retarded because it gets partially blocked by the oil cooler.

What did you have for power in the F100's? I always wanted one with a 300" Canadian Six in it.
