FCP Groton 900 1994

Hello. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with FCP Groton out of Connecticut. I am going to be ordering a timing belt and tensioner pulley through them and just want to know that their parts are as dead on as the dealer. Also, I may purchase a set of e-code headlights and turn signals through them as they're pretty inexpensive. Are they worth the money? Also, if anyone knows people who can install them in the Cape Cod, MA area please let me know. Thanks! Matt.

Always have what I need and they generally ship UPS the same day of the order. I'm in Ohio and always get parts from Groton within 2 days.

Groton is a household word on this Site.

I get my important stuff from them.

I've used FCP many times. They are my exclusive Volvo part supplier. I highly recommend them -- their service is excellent. They are a true bricks & mortar parts business with people who know Volvos and Volvo parts (not just someone with a web site)

I agree about Scan Tech parts. I would not use them for anything critical -- like bushings for instance. I think the tail light and front corner light I got from FCP were Scan Tech. They were clearly not of the same quality as OEM, but they were also less than half the price. I was comfortable with that.

Good luck.

I'e used them many times. Great price and great service. If you want Volvo OE parts, make sure you tell them that, otherwise you typically get another manufacturer (i.e. Scantech). Stay away from Scantech replacement parts. They look similar to OE but are made of inferior materials in my experience. Not worth the few dollars saved.

I bought a lot of stuff from FCPGroton,
filters, distributor cap, ...etc.)
since it is quite cheap for us in Europe, even with shipping !
They are very fast and serious
(eventhough, I live about 4000 miles from them ...).

I agree what is said about ScanTech, I got a PS-pump for 960,
mentioned as "Saginaw" (should be = OEM),
but it was actually ScanTech, made in China (like a lot of stuff ....)
and the pressure output was not correct, resulting in hard steering.
I sent it back and got refunded (4000 miles back...).

As far as I remember they sell Continental
for the 940/B230 distribution belts (but that was a few years ago).

Personnally for the distribution, I preferred to put Volvo OEM,
since it is sensitive, especially on your car where I think you have an "interference" type engine (where valves can hit pistons if belt breaks), it was the case of late B230 engines (after 1993 on ...), the earlier ones being non-interference.
On those later ones, the timing belt has round teeth (square teeth for the earlier ones).
