Does anyone know approximate weight for a stripped down 1800es.
Just body, doors, hood, axles and tires.
No interior, no engine, no transmission, no glass, no drive shafts, no steering box

A guy I worked for years ago you to go from Michigan to California to bring back old Volvos to restore. He used a two wheel dolly all the time. He said he would strap a 50 gallon drum to the dolly and fill it up with water for the trip out, so the dolly wouldn't bounce all over the place.

I once towed a complete 1800 using a two wheel dolly and a 145 with a tired engine; no problems.

yes the emissions tests are tough in Ontario so i thought i would try Fred Flinstone style so I could pass. Geesh Comedians everywhere....
I am preparing to move a frame i found state side. I do not have a trailer so i am gauging what size i need. Maybe a 2 wheel dolly trailer will be suffice.

Hi, I towed a 220 (120 wagon) from southern Mass to Montreal using a tow dolly, was not the smallest dolly though and had a surge brake. Tow vehicles was a tired old '82 245, no problem the 220 felt light and it had all the bits plus spares.....I kind of prefer towing with a dolly, overall weight is lower and none of the double suspension issues that crop up no matter how hard you cinch down the car on the trailler.

Based on a stock curb weight of 2600, I'd be inclined to say you're at 1600-1800 lbs, as described.
