No stinking badges 120-130 1967

I have looked everywhere, but they are gone! Why would someone remove the ID plate and the accessory ID plate???? The chasis # plate is still there, painted over, but the other 2 have been drilled out and are gone?????

Where else can I find the VIN?

EDIT: I found the VIN stamped above the heater box, with a very thick coat of paint over it. At least it isn't a stolen car.

I have found that adding an acid neutralizing pad under the battery is a good way to stop acid damage in it's tracks. They are cheap and I believe they are available from IPD, also Holden.UK (though the ones I ordered were made in Texas!

Just missing the product plate 120-130 1967

Except for the chassis plate, which I understand does not mean anything, all of the other engine bay plates have been removed for some screwed up reason. Now I will never know if the original color was California white. The original paint does look very white compared to the cream white that has been poured every where.

Filling the rivit holes to keep water out, I removed the battery. Good news, no leaking there, someone smeared POR15 looking stuff on the bottom which was starting to flake. A wire brush and a nice thick coat of Rustoleum should take care of any additional rust.

I found a 740 plastic battery tray a few years ago. It looks like it will fit! As soon as the paint dries, I will put the plastic tray in. That ought to keep the battery from scratching the paint.

      Sr. Klaus!
In the middle of the 1966 model year they started stamping the VIN in firewall/cowl just below the center of the hood.
One of my 66 122 wagons has it stamped there (44489) while the other one does not (36025).
It will be of the form *22244VF44489*
Where 22244 is the model (for a 2-door it would be like 13244) and 44489 is the serial number.
So being a 1967 model, yours SHOULD have it stamped there. If paint is really thick you may have to scrape.

        Thanks George,
I found the right most numbers, which match the title, by holding a light at an angle. There must be 5 pounds of new paint over it :)

BTW, we just got a cold front through here with some 40mph breezes. It appears to be heading south on I-35. Tie down the chicken coop!

Don't you love painters that work by the pound!
I'm glad you found the number. If you see fit, I'd like to know what it is.
How cool is it getting up there in Mpls (MaPLeSs?)
By the time I-35 gets here it has jogged west about 100 miles to hit Wichita and OKC. We're on US75.
Nonetheless if it gets this far south we'll probably get it.
We're off to South Dakota in a couple weex - odd that a state so far NORTH should have "South" in its name.
(about as backward as North Carolina)
It may be fairly cool then.....

            VIN 120-130 1967

It is a little hard to read, but looks like:

            223441057811

            Chassis number is for 1967.

I will put the plastic tray for the 740 in place tomorrow. It has a drain hole just forward of the firewall in this car.
I get the seat clips this week along with a felt gasket for the front shaft. It is a good thing I am not in a hurry with this project.

I have to call CA this week, she was scheduled for another MRI. She is afraid that her tumor is growing again. Me too.

              VIN 120-130 1967

              Is this a 2-door or 4-door car or a wagon? A 2-door should start with 132... and a 4-door should
start with 122.... A wagon would normally start with 222...

I'm glad to have an update on CA. Had not heard anything for a while.
Is she able to work now? Glioblastoma or some other kind?

                VIN 120-130 1967

The VIN starts with 223. The chassis number is for a 1967 220, wagon.

CA is slowly getting worse from her Glioblastoma. Her balance is now being affected, along with being numb on her right arm and leg. Speech is difficult, and the reason you haven't heard from her is that she can no longer use the computer.
Things are not looking as bright as a year ago.
