Need help locating a fuse and a resistor 700

I mentioned in another post that I was unable to locate a fuse and a resistor, but I forgot to ask if anyone knew where they were. My Alldata electrical diagram for a 91, Volvo, 740, Speedomter/Odometer circuit, shows a resistor on the negative line between the speedo transmitter and the speedo and there is a fuse for this circuit also, but it is not located in the main fuse block area. I have a friend who specializes in electronics repairs, although I do not patronize his business, I just talk to him from time to time about electronic stuff, and I directed him to this site and asked him to read up on the 700/900 FAQ Speedo 45 mph issue and the capacitor replacement thing, and when I mentioned the resistor thing and the fuse he said, "That needs to be looked at first." I told him I didnt know but it just seemed like common sense to me too. Btw, I dont think the fuse is in the main fuse box area, I think it is somewhere else in the circuit. Anyone know? Time will tell what develops.

Need help locating a fuse and a resistor 700

If you check in the trunk/cargo area, and find the speedo wires and follow them back, you find a small, black box about the size of an old box of matches. Located in the drivers side storage area on wagons, or behind the plastic on sedans, close to the antenna. Maybe this is what you're looking for?

The black box is just a tamper proof box around the electrical connectors which connect the chassis side of the speedometer wiring to the harness connecting to the sender on the rear end.
