rear suspension bushings 700

One area of my 91 that I have not looked at is the rear suspension particularly the bushings. As I am the third owner it is perhaps reasonable to say that the original bushings are still there and I was just wondering if and when do these go bad?. Im in South Florida and at present I do not have any clunks nor any reason with the rear end to be of concern. How do bushing problems manifest themselves ?

I changed all the rear bushings in my 740 at 130k miles.

However, I think the only ones that really needed changing where the panhard bushings. They were shot. Before I changed them, the car would wander in crosswinds. After changing, the wandering was gone.

I concur with Ryan and his experience. I just sold a 1991 745T with 253K and I had no issues with bushings other than the cone bushings which I had replaced with poly (probably 100K ago).

Worn bushings usually clunk. For what it's worth, the bushings in our 745 have 300K miles on them and are just fine. In fact, the only bushings that have needed replacement on this car are the "cone" bushings up front.
