Side Brake Lights are dead 200 1989

My side brake lights are both dead, but the center brake light works.
There are no bulb failure lights and the fuse is fine.
I remember some posts a while ago dealing with this issue.
If anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Both lights out while the center works is not a special issue with a specific likely cause, just coincidence. The lack of warning is a clue that would tend to nail the BFWS Bulb Failure Warning Sensor. Most likely, you have a sedan, and moisture has deteriorated contacts or even filled the lens through a crack - you'll just have to take a look, and maybe trace the current. If you get nothing to the lights, then it is fairly certain it is the sensor, but I'd still check the easy stuff first.

How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

Art, as usual you were right. On the left side I just jiggled the center contacts, and on the right side I replaced the circuit board. I passed NJ inspection this afternoon. Thanks again.
