144 Error Code on 940T; Bad ECU?

My 940 has been running great lately, except for stalling last night. This 940 has the Bosch/LH, not a Regina car. It stopped running suddenly and is now posting a 144 code on port 6, showing a "No load signal from fuel injection system" issue. It also had a 121 from port 2, but that code isn't showing up after checking the MAF plug.

After reading the posts concerning this 144 code I decided to look into it myself. I've investigated about this code and ran some diagnostics based on what the posts told me. The posts said that typically this code is tripped from a lack of power coming from the 87/1 spade on the injector relay. I replaced the injector relay with a known good one, checked the voltage at the fuse panel and followed the power to the ECU.

I thought I had a spare ECU, but can't locate it. I'm going to take a look around the local junkyards for a compatible ECU.

In the meantime, does anyone have any other ideas of what could be wrong? At this point I'm somewhat stumped and could use some help.

144 Error Code on 940T; Bad ECU?

Besides the relay 87/1 soldering and terminal, there may be a bad/burnt connection at the 87/1 relay rack female terminal, which carries current for:

    • ECU (loss here could lead to the 144 code at the EZK)
    • AMM
    • Air pre-heat resistor
    • IAC motor
    • Fuel relay coil
    • RS relay coil

Thank you for your response. Unbelievably the car had spark & gas, but wouldn't start.

So I started to replace the easy stuff before purchasing anything expensive. The started after replacing the spark plugs. I honestly have no idea how the faulty plugs would cause the car to not start and have error codes, but they did.

Thank you for your quick reply though!
