Mostly because the dead links from that *.no seat-rebuild address on archive.org don't show any pics, so, my pain, your gain. Also: Safety glasses! Gloves! You do NOT want a chunk of flying hog ring to pierce your eyeball, and the spray glue is noxious.

(yeah, sorry about all that sneery "Made on a Mac" crap, but I don't know how else to do this)

Where did you get the new seat bottom wire grid from?

Local Volvo dealer, about $17 or so.

Yeah, that site was moved. Art was nice enough to take the seat info from me to add it to his Volvo library.

Gracias, Mister Klanki!!
I've got a complete set of front foam plus covers for my 93 245 to install after my son gets his M.Ed and lands a job that pays above poverty wages, then I get the 'Green Lantern' back. I plan to refurbish her as much as possible and drive her as my last ever car.
I will use your technique if I need to rebuild any of the foam cushions on the other 4 Volvos in the family.

The Backrest adjustment knob might be a bit tricky to figure out. There is a center cap that pops off to get at the Locking Start Washer.
There's a picture or two in here that might show it better.

Yeah, getting the cap off that knob is tricky. I tried with one of the junkyard seats and eventually the locknut went flying off somewhere.

Fortunately, you don't have to remove the backrest adjuster knob if you're careful about unhooking the seat covering.

Also: wish I'd thought of reinforcing the seatback like you did with lawn chair webbing, but didn't know mine was split. Maybe next time I'll pull both seats and swap the seatback foam, as the passenger seat is in great shape (aside from the seatback frame being broken or whatever causes it to list to one side, haven't had that seat out yet).
