I just started in to my new project a 1989 780 and one of the issues i have is the temp gauge does not work at all, hitting the dash does nothing, i also checked and the wires going to the sendor under #2 are connected and tight, what should i do next? I have a spare sendor i could use for testing but how would i exactly use this other then putting in a bot of boiling water

Yep, pot of hot water. But you will need to ground the sensor at the threads. Turn the key on and watch the gauge.

Yea just got finished doing such, sensor thats in the engine toast, spare sensor good, will swap tomorrow now that i found a large crack in the oil breather box, go figure!
