drivers side wiper not returning to either position 200

Howdy all,

I went through the car wash last week and the washer roller thingy that rolls over the top of the car caught my drivers side wiper blade and pushed it up to about 70 degrees (almost upright). as i left the carwash, i ran my wipers one cycle to get it to return to normal. it reacted as if it didnt know it was at 70 degrees and extended far past the drivers side of the car, then had difficulty returning to down at rest position. so i got out and manually pushed it down there. now, it doesnt really go all the way to the upright or to the parked position. thoughts?

thanks in advance.

Lift the plastic cover at the pivot point. Chances are the nut that holds the wiper arm to the pivot has loosened. Loosen it completely and lift the arm off. Run the wipers through a cycle to be sure of park position and then reinstall the arm and tighten the nut. There may be a chance the metal has split on the arm at the pivot--in which case you'll need to replace the arm.--Dave
