Anyone know how I tell what engine my 1985 240DL wagon has?

      Need to be doubley sure,as with the 2.1 engine I qualify for the $4500 cash for clunkers program and will be trading her in. The 2.3 engine does not qualify because combined mileage is too high(20mpg). Love this car but she is tired and needs a rest!

      Can I tell from the VIN? or some other sticker on the car?
