Hello all,

In the process of troubleshooting an unrelated problem, I found an interesting Mystery Wire. See the Picasa link below for photo. In the second photo my index finger is touching where the wire originates from and I have curved the wire so that the plug is also in view. It's pretty short, less than 12 inches of wire. 10 points goes to the person who can tell me Where It Plugs Into. Prizes include a million dollars and a free trip to Mexico.

I haven't noticed anything electrical not working, except, of course, my odometer, but my understanding is that if the speedometer is getting power, the odometer is too. This thing could have been unplugged for YEARS... it has oil all over it.

Hi Amelia,

I have to guess, because I don't have any 87 model year experience. It looks like the same plug that fits a vacuum solenoid valve sometimes found on the firewall for the purpose of making the motor run a little stronger when the AC is turned on.

Then again, the plug reminds me of one I've found on the older cruise controls.
