O2 senosr diagnosis S90-V90 1998

Getting codes P0130 (efi 212) and P0135 (efi 521) front O2 woes.
Is it possible for another reason these codes are getting logged other than a faulty O2. I have performed just about all the tests Alldata and Vadis tell me to do.
I have read a few BB posts where a new sensor does not erase a 212 code.
Can anyone provide some guidance. CEL just started to come on last week. 195,000KM on the engine. No other symptons appear. Car seems to runs fine.

    O2 senosr diagnosis S90-V90 1998

Just to close this thread up.
Feel like i am talking to myself but....in the spirit of offering info to someone else who may be looking.....

I have ran 1200km on my new O2 Sensor. I bought the direct fit Bosch as the wiring is like 4 feet long. it went in very easily once you buy the shorter crows foot style sensor socket. once it warmed up I was getting nice quick voltage fluctuations .00-.09V

No codes have came up. All 3 codes are gone. Stuttering is gone, fuel economy is better and I passed my emissions test with flying colours. E-test results considerably better than the last test.

    Simple fix. Big results

    O2 sensor diagnosis S90-V90 1998

Replaced the o2 sensor with an OE direct fit Bosch 15098. Wasn't cheap.
No codes so far. P0130,135 and 172 have not returned and no stutter. Drove it for about 15KM

I decided to pull off the Vacuum manifold tree, clean and seal it up with sensor safe RTV and also replace all the vacuum hoses while in there. May as well tidy as you go.....

Have to wait for the RTV to cure properly so I will wait until tomorrow to go any distance.

All this in the rain of course.

The P0135 is an O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction. That may be also causing the P0130. Have you checked for heater circuit voltage during warmup on the front O2 sensor?

      O2 senosr diagnosis S90-V90 1998

      I have a new o2 arriving tomorrow.
yes i have 13-14 V in both ft and rr heater circuits. tells me i do not have a short but i could still have an open circuit or burnt heater element.
If I unplug the o2 i get the same codes but could still be bad wiring.

The MV from the ECM stays constant at 465mv. No matter how long the engine runs it stays in open loop. So I could have an open circuit in the wiring to the o2 or a fualty O2.
The rear sensor stays in open loop until hot then regulates nicely between 0V and .9V.
I have short and open tested right back to the ECM. Everything checks out OK
Given the age and mileage (200,000KM) i opted to change it.
This morning i got p0172 rich fuel and sluggish behaviour.
All of this sort of leads to a bad sensor.
I know 172 leans towards a fault MAF but I am betting the 02 is causing it.
I will reply once I get the new sensor in. Bosch OE 15098 direct fit.

This all began after I found a poor connection on my ETC. Once I connected that my electric fan started to work. It never turned on before. I have only owned this car for 18 months.
Knowing the ECM close loops the 02 when it receives info from the ETC all sort ties things together. The 02 may have been bad for a long time.
Hoping my cat has survived the abuse.
