Seek info on fuseblocks on 444, 544 models 444-544

Guys;

I need some details from the earlier model vehicles for a SwEm article compiling fuse and fuseblock info such as what fuse powers what loads etc.

Questions:
1. What year and vehicles were the 6 Fuse fuseblocks used (444 6V?). Where and how were they mounted. A pic would be super.
2. What year were the 4 Fuseblocks (same as used on later 122) used on 544. Where and how were they mounted. A pic would be super.
3. Were 544s produced in 6V? I believe 122s were so I imaginge 544s would have been...is there any corrolation with years?

Source credit will of course be given for all contributed pix used in article.

TIA!

    Hi Ron;

    I believe the previous posts may have answered most of your questions, but to your third the general rule is that all 544's from 1958 with the B16 engine had 6V, hence the same 6 fuse blocks as the late 444L series. When the B18 came in from 1961, the 544(C model?) also got 12V and most likely a similar setup of the fuseblocks as the later 121/122. I am quite certain that the same rule applies to the 121/122; 6V = B16 and 12V = B18, year of change 1961.

    BTW; my -58 544A has the 6 fuse block as shown in the pic in one of the posts, but it also hold a separate 4 fuse block close to the radiator for the front lights. But you are mots likely familar with that one.

    My '63 544 has the 4 fuse block, mounted with the fuses in a horizontal line. Short fuse on the bottom. It was a B18 engine, 12V car.

    Ron,

    I have not figured out how to include images here but have just uploaded to somewhere on the gallery three pictures of the fuseblock on my 444 project. Two are closeups and one shows the overall firewall. These would probably not be good illustrations for an article since I have mods connected with use of a B20 - but perhaps they will help in some way.

    I redid the labels using the wording from the originals on my car. But after I put the block on the car I noticed that perhaps I should have oriented them the other way. The wiring is from the 444 except for the bright green one which goes to an aftermarket horn relay. I plan to change that to a better color wire.

      Howdy Keith,

      In the text field where you see the copy and paste information, you need to right click, select all, and then copy. Paste it in notepad or similar and go to the next image. When you come here to post the links, just copy from notepad and paste into the message window. This results:

        Shannon, Keith;

        ...just the sort of thing I was looking for...TNX for the (team) help!

        ...please confirm this is (or should I say originally WAS) a 6V system...

        Cheers

          Ron,

          This was originally a six volt system. I have continued with most of the original wiring with the exception of the charging system.

        Thanks, Shannon.

        I have worked a lot with spreadsheets but have not learned the basics of the computer/camera interface. I will try your suggestions next time. Sounds easy the way you describe it.

    Ron-

    I have a '60/61 P210 and I just parted out a '60/61 544. Both were 6V with the 6 fuse fusebox. Do you need one?

    I believe the B16 cars were all 6V and the B18 cars were 12V.
