Any way to test 1993 240 inline pressostat WITHOUT draining a/c system?

I jumpered the wire and the relay and fan are fine. My last question is, if I try and remove the inline pressostat to test it, will i lose all my freon and have to evacuate system and start over, or can I test it some way without removing it. I.E. does the inline pressostat have a Schrager valve like the dryer does or am I out of luck?

If you mean by 'pressostat' the presure sensor in line before the orifice tube that controls the fan realy ground to switch the fan on, then yes, you need to dump all the R134 (not freon) from the system to replace it. Test with an ohm meter before & after switching the A/C system on, wait about 2-3 min, if it doesn't close( 0 ohms) then the ssytem pressure is too low or the switch is bad.

These rarely go bad, never heard of one going yet. It is much more likely that the system pressure is too low, and need service or charging.

Okay, When you say test with an Ohm meter, before and after switching a/c on you mean while hooked up to the pressure sensor, correct?

After 2-3 minutes, the switch should close and the fan come on and the Ohms should go to zero, correct?

I am thinking about bypassing it altogether with a manual switch run into the cabin for an "a/c booster" switch to improve performance in high temperature/high traffic situations.

Sorry, meant Schraeder valve. Typo.
