Current R-12 Prices? [Survey] 200 1987

I took 3 lbs of Freon this AM and it set me back $160. Last year the same about was ~$100.

What are yall paying these days?

Cheers, John

Hmmm, At that price, if I could find a buyer for the 20 lbs of virgin R12 in my garage, I would have enough money to fix the A/C in my '91 that has been blowing warm for a decade...

There are replacement freons now available off the shelf in Canada. (6oz can of Redtek 12a at Canadian Tire for 14.99) Probably also in US.

try redtek.com

I think at this point you convert it to R134A for less $ than one recharge of R12.

I converted my '82 244DL 184K+ miles to R-134a using the Volvo kit & I have better A/C than when it was still Freon !
