Does anyone know how to tell the date of manufacture of a 1985 240?

Check the VIN decal on the driver's door. Should say something like "MANUFACTURED BY AB VOLVO GOTHENBURG SWEDEN" and then a date. You can also check the date of manufacture on the seat belts. They are usually pretty close to the actual date the car left the factory, I had one dates 5/88 and my current one is 9/92, and both had seat belt dates that pointed to days in the last week of those months.

Is there not a decal somewhere on the car with the date on it?
