1994 volvo 960

I am trying to change timing belt

Not sure which one are the marks i see this "M" are these the marks
and i am not sure against what i need to align them, any help please
I will try to post some pictures

No, it is not the "M", they are shaped like a solid triangle. Nearly impossible to see, sometimes looking at an angle, catching the room light off the reflection can make it more visible.

Another way to find it, turn the crankshaft and get it on it's mark, then check the cam's mark, if it is not found, go exactly one revolution on the crank and look at the cams again, keep going until found, should have it by the fourth revolution. Then paint your own marks.
