Brake Jucntion Box Switch Question 200 1983

I recently had the brake failure switch start to leak on my 240. I ordered a new one from FCP Groton and installed it Friday. The replacement part was identical except for the terminal at the top where the wire connects it has a hole through the center of the terminal and the original did not. Against my better judgement I tried to install it anyway and of course it leaks brake fluid out of this hole. Has anyone else had this problem or did I just install it improperly? Is this the wrong part or is it defective?

Thank You

Brake Jucntion Box Switch Question 200 1983

The brake failure switch is not designed to seal against brake fluid. If fluid is coming out of the switch, it means the internal seals of the brake junction are leaking. Under normal conditions, the switch should never "see" brake fluid. Many people have tried to come up with alternate solutions to this problem, but the only real fix is to replace the brake line junction. There have been a number of long posts about this recently. Use the search function and you should find them.
