Where does the oil pressure sensor go? retrofit 200

Hi,

I ordered an oil pressure gauge (sender included) and a voltmeter on eBay today.

I'm going to retrofit my 92 240.

Where does the oil pressure sender screw in to the block?

thanks in advance.

Thaddeus

This is from the volvo instructions that came with a unit I purchased;
B230f
Disconnect and fold aside the pre-heating hose
Remove the tension device from the servo pump.Remove the V-belt and fold out the servo pump as far as possible.
Disconnect the electric cable and remove the old sender.
Assemble adapter[looks like a bushing] and new sender,Install with new copper washer.
Reinstall tensioner and servo pump.
Note the 45 degree adapter is used with the B19,B21,B23 motor.B28 needs bushing and 45 degree adapter.

Route grren cable{GN] to gauge and connect to terminalG.
Existing cable is connected to terminal WK using the enclosed joining cable
Clamp the green cable with existing clamps.

Gauge
Black cable[SB] to ground
The grey cable[GR]from the cable harness is connected to the brown cable for facia light
Route the red/blue [r/bl] to fuse box and connect to fuse 13
Route the green cable[GN} through the firewall, along the existing harness down under the crankshaft pulley. qiuck note start with gauge then the sender

It worked. 200

I had to use a bushing to get the Sender to fit my 92's block -- the hole in the block was bigger and had a coarser thread than the sending unit. Boy did I piss off the guys at the auto parts store... but anyways, both the idiot light and the gauge are working now and it's nice.

I like having a full complement of gauges, although I miss the clock, now that it's been replaced by a tach....

Do you have a clock on your radio, or cell phone or watch? There are plenty of options.

I want a clock with hands and I don't like taking my hands from the wheel to check a wristwatch. My mad driving skeelz YO don't permit it.

I totally confuse the guys at the Autozone I frequent. I am the 'crazy Volvo guy' with the car that makes no sense to them. I ask for a bunch of things they've never heard of - like metric-to-npt adapters, and flame traps. I asked them to hire me for the benefit of the eccentric Volvo community.

If you want the light and the gauge, you will have to put a "tee" in the line for the light sender which is located just in front of the oil filter. Make certain to use copper tubing and keep a turn for vibration damping at both ends.

The 'T' connection can be used for electric oil pressure senders as well. I have both an aftermarket electric oil pressure gauge and a working idiot light.

It replaces the existing idiot light sensor in front of the oil filter. You will need a 45 degree adapter to make it fit.

So what does the idiot light sensor attach to after you install the pressure sensor? Are there two electrical attachments on the sensor?

Sorry for the dumb question, I haven't actually received the hardware in the mail yet...

Cars with the original oil pressure gauge use a sender with two terminals--one for the gauge-one for the warning lamp. If the sender for your gauge (aftermarket?) does not have that feature you will have to install a fitting with two outlets--Dave

Hello,

The oil pressure sender fits into the oil port near the oil filter canister.
