'89 760 first start after nearly a year... (Video) 700

...This is a re-post updated with a video link.

I just boosted my '89 760 after it sat parked for nearly a year. Started no problem, idled @ about 2000 RPM for the first 3-4 minutes then as the engine warmed up and the revs began to drop, it started to cut out every second or so until it eventually spuddered to a halt. Put fresh gas into it, tried again, but no improvement. Prior to it being parked, the car ran fine. Any ideas as to what it might be?

Here is a link (cut and paste) to a video of it on youtube...

I have to agree with the others. I would fill it with premium grade, can of heet and maybe a can of fuel injector cleaner. On the interstate, run the p*ss out of it.

    Old Gas (Edit) 700

    Hello,

You need to run the old gas out of it on the interstate.

(EDIT) You should use a small amount of starting fluid in the airbox to start it again.

Your fuel pump has two functions. Pressure, and volume. Sounds like either the fuel filter is clogged or the sock on the fuel pump is clogged. It sounds like the injectors are firing correctly. It's just not getting enough fuel.
