floor vent, and cruise works, but no deffoster vent, I thought if you lose one you lose all 200 1991

You can hear the floor vent door slam shut, but the defrosters vents are putting out nothing. On my 1987 245, if you lost one due to vacuum leak in engine compartment, you lost them all. The vacuum line is not broken or cracked in the engine compartment. Why would the door vent work so well but no defroster vent?

If there is a loose or broken vacuum line under the dash, could this be the source of my rough idle?

Taking out the glove box is easy enough and enables looking at what is happening on that side.

Yes, pull the glove box and operate the defrosters then the floor vents and back and forth. You'll see if the vacuuum module is moving from open to closed. If you have to have the defroster and the module for whatever reason isn't working you may temporarily (or long term if you like) wire the module in defroster open position. Get in there you'll see what you need to. May even find a leaking vacuum line.

Guys,
Thanks for the responses. I pulled the glove box and found the culprit. A vacuum line off at the passengers defroster duct. The defroster duct was also jacked out of the dashboard vent, so I put everything else back in order, connected the line and itis good to go. Thanks!
