Wider Tires? S90-V90

Has anyone tried putting 225 wide tires on their S90? The rims are 7" wide so they should be able to handle it, but I was just wondering about rubbing issues? It is time for new tires for me and I like the look of fat tires... So I was thinking about putting something like 225/50R16..

What yall think?

Thanks..

Agree with dewfpo. You will probably rub on the front struts. Spacer do not make any difference I tried with not luck and using stock tires, 205 wide. I have Michelin and these tires are more rounded on the walls than other tire brands. Look for tires that have straight walls and you may get away with the 225.

I doubt the backs will rub at all. The fronts, probably. My stock sized tires leave a rub mark on the strut under certain conditions. I don't hear it but I see the mark. You could probably use a spacer to move the tire/wheel outboard a little while still using the same rims but I'm not sure if it will rub on turns.

I have the 22550s on the back and no issues. I have the 205/55s on the front I have been tempted to rotate them but have not yet had the nerve.
