Turbo Fuel Pump Check Valve - B21FT 200 1983

I recently placed an order to FCP Groton and one of the things I ordered was a Turbo Fuel Pump Check Valve. Now that I've examined the turbos Fuel Pump and the Bentley manual, it seems like this part is not for the turbo. The Bentley says this part is not necessary for the turbo models and I don't see it at the output side of my fuel pump like on a N/A B23F fuel pump. Did FCP Groton sell me a part I don't need? Can I install it anyway? I'm assuming it would reside on the output side of the main fuel pump.

    Hi there,

    Did FCP Groton sell me a part I don't need?

    Did you buy a part you don't need? I don't know. I see the Bentley drawing reference to non-turbo only, but my 83 b21ft came with one, and in the Volvo parts fiche it is listed for b21ft 81- as p/n 1306990.

    I'm waiting for someone to explain to me why a turbo would place any different requirements on residual pressure from that of any other k-jet. The Bentley reference baffles me.

    That is correct if you have a bosch last four digits 149
    fuel pump. Dan

      Last 3 or 4 digits? The last 3 digits on my pump are 949, 4 digits: 4 949

      So do I in fact need this part then?

        3 is what I should have said. Does your pump look like the ones in Art's photos? That is the pump for the part you bought. Dan
