Last nite going to work,my car started to miss badly,just look at cap/rotor seem ok.At Idle the engine will miss about every min or so,Almost seems the timing is off some,What do I need to check out frist.

    Look for vacuum leaks as well; my engine would begin to miss and lose power if I gave it too much gas, and it turned out to be a serious vacuum leak.

    Look at the cap, rotor, and wires after dark, do you see any arcing? If this stuff is old replace it with quality parts.
    Disconnect the AMM with the key off, then start. Does the miss go away?

      Missing and backfiring? If it is the typical stumble idle of the 230 that is not serious. Cleaning the AMM with CRC MAF cleaner worked wonders on my 87 and 88 5 speed 240s for that stumble idle and overall performance,check for intake vacuum leaks also. backfiring will blow out that rear cam seal. You can check and adjust the timing also,inductive timing light on the #1 cylinder.
