Cosmetics - Trim issue? 200

On my 91 240, I use polish, not wax (I don't know if this is significant)... Anyways.

I'll polish it and some of the polish will get on the black trim that is about hip level. The problem is... it won't come off. I've tried a lot of different things, even scrubbing it with a toothbrush, trying to get the visible white stains off.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

The best solution is just to stay away from the trim with the wax - it's a pain in the butt. You can try some alcohol to get the wax out, or you can just leave it, it will wear off in a month or two. Application of some trim dressing, or black dye will often help tremedously with this problem. Search the web for your problem and you will find countless home remedies for getting wax out of plastic trim.

Also, BE CAREFUL WITH THE POLISH! If you are really using polish, and not wax, then you are taking minute amounts of the paint/clear coat off every time you polish. Ideally, you want to polish once every year or two, and wax several times a year.
