I did when I was replacing the seals on my 63. The one I got in the kit just will not work. I found that the 3 series BMWs trunk seal fits perfect. Find a good one, they pull right off. Find another and get about 3' off it with the little pipe at the joint(center-bottom}You will have to have two splices rather than one but they are readily available. I centered the three foot piece on my latch and made the splices at the end of that piece. Works great and cost $5.

Although costing about 10x as much ($50.00), the push-on seal sold on eBay is also a fine alternative.
