help i have 3 wiring questions 700

i am wondering if anyone can help me as in which wires are which on the items listed below(i say items because i have 3 seperate issues 1 being a stereo 2 being a dual amp setup from 1985 960 turbo and 3 a 25x2 plus 40x2 amp)

if anyone can tell me how to hook these up to my 1986 740 id greatly appreciate it since even for the 1985 volvo has once again switched the wires around(lol)
i am trying to upgrade so to speak to the 40w for the rear and 25w front

the stereo i want to install is a sr-7145 and its from a 1989(or 1990) 7 series with 14 pin connector pin colors are as follows(not in order)
pin2:grey/red pin4:grey pin6 yellow/white pin8:blue pin10:black pin12:red pin14:unused pin1:red/white pin3:white pin5:yellow pin7:green pin9:green/brown pin11:yellow/black pin13:unused

for the amps: amp1: from 1985 760t(rear amp) its straightforwart except where the yellow constant b+ should go into the dash its a model HA-3141(2ch)
front amp(same car) theres a black,green/white,grey/white, grey/yellow, green/yellow,and flat yellow from amp to connector this amp is model: HA-3121

last amp(the 4 ch 25x2 and 40x2 in a single unit) has from amp: black,blue,blue/white,brown,white,white/black,yellow,yellow/black,and one more white/black again where to put the red constant b+wire in dash this amp is model: HA-6145

are any of the volvo connectors directly "plug and play" from these units to my 1986 740 and which wires are which? seems like noone not even the dealerships has any info(sounds fishy but who knows)
any help would be greatly appreciated since id like atleast one of the amp setups plus the stereo i mentioned above in my 740

thanks,
geoff

one more question to add:

is the red wire that interconnects the stereo, amp, and power antenna a 12v hot only when stereo is switched on? im considering obtaining a second HA-3141 40wx2 rear speaker amp and using that as a front amp(160 total system watts. i think these model amps are mosfet?) and i may interconnect a relay in the fused pos wire from the battery +. (30a fuse at batt + and after relay, ill "y" the pos into 2 separate 15a fused connections before entering each amp for max protection) can i tap the red wire to use as a coil wire or just wire to battery directly? just do not want the amps constantly on when vehicle is not running i would assume the amps remote wire is in the m-bus connector but im not totally positive here.

let me know what you think

Howdy,

The 1985 760 rear amp uses an inline fuse (30A) from an unswitched power source.

The colors for your front amp match the Mitchell's diagram:

Navigate to the year and model you need to investigate.

hey sdewolfe, thanks alot that solves the front amp wiring for the 1985 amp atleast ill know how to install those:). so the constant b+(yellow wire) i can just run to the battery pos. with an inline fuse as i assumed like aftermaket amps? but my other 2 issues still remain on the sr-7145 wiring in perticular but also the ha-6145 im trying to, after i get all wiring diagrams and which wire goes where, do my homework as to which amp(s) will be easiest with the sr-7145(i need that stereo bc it also has the weatherband lol and id assume its a bit more punchy)

geoff

I must warn you that the radio/cassettes in my 89 and 90 740's had bad tuners in all of them, I think they were 6145's. Every one I've ever had has broken, thus have, or in the process of, re wiring for after market radios, which I get at the junky.

thanks for the tip on the tuners ill be sure i bench it before i install the deck(the head is seperate from tape unit(even has 2 seperate codes-how to enter the tape code is beyond me lol) but its a 7145 so hopefully its a good one. i mean worse case scenerio i could gut the volvo head and amp and replace with a honda/bose setup if i can find the correct bose speakers(alpine head)
