Starter housing prevent tranny removal 200

I've been meticulously documenting the tranny swap but I've ran into a snag with the Starter Bubble in the AW70 Bellhousing. Pulling the transmission rearward on my tranny-jack the body of the car prevents me from dislodging. I've tried twisting the tranny (rotating along the crank) Seems like it should work but I'm not gunna experiment...

How do i get past this?

I let the rear of the engine twist down but this may require removal of the radiator and disconnecting the exhaust header.

    Hi Tim,

I think it is all in how high you get the car up.

I was unduly concerned about hanging the motor from its front mounts.

But thankful I raised the car as high as the stands would permit.

Groucho Marx... I should have known.

I am just old enough to know The Marx brothers. His show and their movies.

          Good stuff

Thanks - some nifty perspective with those pics.

But I did a bone-head move and skipped a step: Didn't remove the Bellhousing protector that wraps around the rear of the motor oil pan.
