ODB II Code Scanner S90-V90 1998

Normally I am the type of person that takes my Volvo to the mechanic for its maintenance, but lately I am getting back the car “do it your self” bug. With that in mind, I have been reading and researching the purchase of an OBD II code scanner, and after rearing various posts here as well as other forums as well as product reviews I think I have come up with an acquisition candidate and would like some feedback from the far more experience brethren than me in this matter. The scanner I am thinking of buying is the EQUUS 3130, the price seams to be middle of the road for the do it your self crowd, and it looks to be easy to operate with enough bell and whistles to satisfy my gadget side. But prior to sinking my hard earned money some feedback would be appreciated.

I use a Carchip Pro Data Logger.. You can pick 4 or 5 parameters out of 20, temp, 02 sensor reading, rpm, speed, etc... and log while you drive. It cost about $140, and it does read codes....
