Powerloss/bogging down issues... 89 764ti 700 1989

Having above problems intermittantly, some times on mild accelaration, sometimes on boost.. went to my local JY earlier and down the street form there is a steep grade hill, car almost seemed like it was going to stop in the middle due to lack of power.. Checked my turbo intake hoses earlier today and all appear good with no air leaks, was tol this car has a Hall sensor in the dizzy, the complete dist assembly was replaced about a year ago by the PO, $300 dollars worth... Any ideas, where to look, resolutions to offer, any and all help appreciated, car also is the turbo+ model allowing 180hp if that makes any difference........ Thanks, Tom 27940aholic

I had this problem when I first bought my 93 940 turbo used. It had Bosch Platnum plugs and it would bog if I floored it. replaced the plugs with the oem spec and no more problems

I've heard the Bosch supers are better than the platinums in Volvos... PO spent about $1500 on maintainance in 07 for the car, at about 132k they had a complete tune up done including the complete dist assembly, wires, impulse sensor, coil and NGK 1233 plugs, have also heard that the Bosch supers are better than NGK's, after all the Volvo ain't a Japanese car, I would put the NGK plugs in my 85 ZX. Guess i'll have to get some Supers for the Swede.. Would the impulse sensor be considered the Hall sender or would it be the crank sensor? The sensor cost $61.50 on the receipt... Car only has 144k on it now.. Tom
