B230FT Head, is there differences between CA and other states? 700 1989

Is there a difference between a heads for cars originally sold in california, and other heads? that would have to do with emissions?

If so, would using a head other than one built for CA possibly cause an emissions test failure?

Also, can anyone recommend a good place to get a head rebuilt in central CA, or the Bay area? and what the expected price might be.

thanks

All North American Market 940s will have 530 heads. Your turbo car will have a T cam and sodium cooled exhaust valves. Normally aspirated 940s will have 530 heads with M cams, but no sodium cooled exhaust valves.

Your 940 probably has EGR, but that will be incorporated into the exhaust manifold, the EGR valve, and the intake manifold.

Using a head from a 49 state car will affect nothing. It is the same head.

Why do you ask?
